Ash Wednesday Service

Join us for our Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday, February 18, at 6:00 pm in the sanctuary.

Ash Wednesday marks the start of the Lenten season. Lent is a 40-day period symbolic of the 40 days that Jesus fasted in the wilderness following his baptism. Ash Wednesday provides us the opportunity to reflect on our own mortality, to repent, and to set our eyes on the good news that is to come on Easter Sunday. Although common themes on Ash Wednesday are sin and death, they are in the light of God’s redeeming love in Jesus Christ.

Ashes will be offered for your forehead during this contemplative service.
